"[...] Epic Games has revealed a free version of its popular Unreal Engine technology. Called the Unreal Development Kit (UDK), it is a free edition of UE3 that allows community, modder and indie users more access to the engine's features and is available for all. Epic said game developers, students, hobbyists, researchers, creators of 3D visualizations and simulations plus digital filmmakers can all take advantage of the UDK for non-commercial use. The UDK site also offers detailed product features, technical documentation, commercial licensing terms and support resources."

New Design

As you must have noticed, the design of the website slightly changed.
The website is currently being re-written to offer more possibilities in the future.

The Facebook Connect integration is a first step.
You can now link your i4Games account to your Facebook account. Once you've done that, you will be able to log in with your Facebook account directly. (Logging on the game servers will still require your i4Games login and password though.)
New visitors can create a new account rapidly by signing up with Facebook!

New changes will come with time. Please report any problem you encounter.
Thank you!

Unplanned downtime: the details

The servers have been offline since Tuesday at 11.30pm (CET). This is because the company which is hosting the servers is moving to another datacenter.

The relationship between the hosting company and the bandwidth/datacenter provider has been deteriorating. Many issues with power, network lag, etc. were left unexplained by the bandwidth provider. Thus, the hosting company (i3D) decided to move to its own datacenter.

However, the current datacenter company has been putting obstacles in the process - hence the long offline period of the servers.

The servers should be back online today in the new datacenter. And that should mean that the previous lag issues should be resolved as well.

Thank you for your patience!

Update: Servers are back online!
