Last days me and a friend often have the Problem, when we start the Map vote our Ut crashes. We only have the Problem on the i4g server.

May my setting are not Ok or someone knows how to fix it?

Hi Syni,
it is not your fault.
It is because of the increasing amont of maps (on BT2 it crashing 100 % for most).

Only good PC can handle now the i4g map vote menu (dunno how long it will works as new maps are released on a regular basis).

You can still follow a vote done by someone (who can vote) because it won't load the whole data base list.

About the mapvote crash you can use this command in the UT console :
Quote:
mutate bdbmapvote map CTF-BT+(bar)code-fix

You can copy past it, don't do any single typo because it would lead to a server crash.

It seems the mapvote problem on BT1 is another problem...

There won't be a fix, this issue has been around a LONG time now.

The only workaround is to vote using the console command but if you make a typo with the map name the server may crash or something. PERN can give better detail when he sees this reply.

Can't say much better than Safester, Medic can't fix that (he tried recently).
The only solution could be to remove many maps Sad

Remove all maps with luckdodges <3 nobody needs that.

Also, could certain information i.e. top 20 caps, links for sorting via difficulty etc. (this already crashed back when there were less than 1500 maps) or staggering load times into sections such as by difficulty (how other servers do it) be doable? I get that Medic built it up and linked it to the servers and is a lot of work to get it to work but as krool said, its not usable. For me, is killing the desire to play at i4g.

Can significant downgrading to the vote menu be done as a quick temporary fix, and then bringing the votemenu back to its former glory when there is time to write it with modifications for allowing an increased number of maps with less information that needs to be loaded?

Mapvote works for me with the new UT 469d Patch.

Here you can download the patch:
