| If I am going to be (re)releasing old maps I might as well do another one.
This is the very first map that I made, somewhere halfway 2006. I never really meant to publicly release this map, but it ended up online and on public servers anyway. I am fully aware that this is my own "fault", I did share the map (together with the other 4 2006-MMI-maps) with a few people just to show what I made and for feedback/fun. But I guess I learned the valuable lesson that once you put something on the internet it will stay and you cannot really get rid of it anymore. But then again, I was 13 at the time, so how should I know. The maps were flamed heavily on some public BT forums which is why I had grown ashamed of them. (MMI)Jump is the first map that I intentionally released online, which is why I have always considered that to be my first map, but this is the actual first one.
While I was working on the LiquidFactory fix I also revisited the other MMI-maps, and I thought it could be fun to make a 18-Year anniverary version of my very first map as well. I wanted to stay close to the original but just tweak some stuff so it flows better and make it enjoyable to play at least once.
Changes:
- Got rid of the flickering lights as they were hugely annoying
- Aligned teleporters as best as I could, but honestly, the brushwork is a mess so it is not going to be aligned exaclty
- New and aligned playerstarts
- Rotated the flags so they all face the correct direction
- Myleveled the awesome hand-crafted number signs as they really do not need their own texture package
- Added team coloring on the walls and flag lights
- Added a screenshot
- Added music
- Re-doubled the map to make the sides equal after all changes
Note: I don't think Noobest-Map-Ever, Teleporter-Maze, and Swimming100m are worth it for a release, so don't expect them. |
