This map is really hard to play because is some stupid feeling of lag on few parts. Nice obstacles but some parts need to be fixed because luck and skill are different things

You talk as if the map is unplayable and with many bugs, but this isn't the case, it's just a hard map.

Just because you spoke to Roel about the 'anti crater' section doesn't mean it's random, broken and needs fixing. I tested it in the region of 20+ times online, even more offline, and it worked just how I wanted it with no problems. I'm not going to water things down just to suit a few players unless I planned to make an EZ version.

As for the dodge, shoot, bouncer combo, I've already hinted here and in your thread about the correct way to do it. My guess is people commented before figuring out the correct method t0 pass it.

I'm not bothered if people don't rate it as one of the best maps of 2016, that wasn't my intent. I knew it wouldn't please everyone and after the success and response I received from EvilTwin I knew that would be hard for me to emulate. In fact, I knew that BT was on it's knee's way before I released Tartarus that I often thought about quitting but it became more of a personal endeavour to complete it despite knowing that it wouldn't get played much or by many people.

I wanted to respond to more of your comments but after re-reading them, particularly those about 'randomness' and lack of 'testing', I've realised that you have no fucking idea what you're talking about and just jumping to conclusions, so I'm not going to entertain the idea or waste more of my time trying to explain stuff that falls on deaf ears, apart from this: As I've said before, I tested it many, many times both offline and online and everything worked pretty much as I intended them to. I've also played it on a variety of servers and didn't experience any problems like what you've mentioned. Nothing random there, so why would I feel the need to change it?

If I'd have gotten more feedback soon after releasing it then maybe it would have motivated me to make some changes. I think the people that experience these same issues you seem to have are probably in the minority, so it's no big concern to me. Perhaps differences in your computer / settings / internet connection could contribute to your shortcomings?

At first, I spoke to Roel about anti-pawel crater device part when map was released and he informed you, but nothing happened.

I do appreciate effort put in map originality of the obstacles and decos, not in fixing/tweaking issues. That's why I didn't enjoy playing it at all.

It isn't only me, plenty of players experienced death at the anti-crater device, it's simply not working for everyone ( killerultra / syntex / venox / someone else ) had this bug, either in !cp or !cpless run.
It's never good to struggle with map for days coz of randomness. Neutral

This map is terrible for me. Its bugged like the targets or the dodge-shot-bouncer is fucked up. And the flow is killed by many thingss like threes and if you are too fast at places you die. I didnt feel the egyptian atmosphere aswell. Anyway, not a big fan of this one, eviltwin or linear rocks!

The only complaint I have is that the bouncer after the ''mover flames'' is like 50-50 for me, sometimes it bounces me high sometimes it bounces me so I fall down into the pupae's mouth.


Chr1st said it's amazing story-based map but haven't even tried cap so he didn't experienced all those issues.
Not to mention no one ( so far ) put your map among other best of 2016 plus seeing ammount of caps ( 9 ) I don't think it's a typical r7 map Rolling Eyes
I can ensure that I practised every bit of map for many hours, and part both mentioned is simply too random sometimes..... Im sure they practised it well enough aswell.
Even Bonket couldnt cap it for 90 mins....
Yeah rotating ASSERT movers stops on diffrent server(s) for a long while, have to wait for a specator's command when to start
Sequence ( as from 3rd person view mover works fine ) or just run and pray for not touching it. "Too tickrate based and should be modified before releasing map" - Venox and me said.
I belive if i4g changes tickrate this issue would be even worse.

Lol the effret movers. They work everywhere, unlike Tartarus.

Another point is I trained map on diffrent render ( at direct3d ), and for some reasons I could survive the first fall with about 20 hp , whereas on OpenGL I had tons of crators, and if I survived anyway, I went rest of map with 1-3 hp......

I agree about last laser obstacle pretty hard but somehow it was random too. How come I've died 4 if not 5 times here , even though I had pracced it a lot and feel quite stable ( in !cp ) ? Sudden deaths because lasers work somewhat strange and bouncer had a tiny radius..... But please, rly such insanely tight obstacle almost at the very end of map??

Could be top tier map but without a proper fix - sorry, no. Sad Pity it wasn't tested properly eh
PS: im not even sure did u try to cap it. Then maybe you would look at map from diffrent side.
As an example i can say after recapping..my own map - technicalChallenges, i dont like it anymore. I fully understand people who had suffered on it in their nocp run. It sucks so hard to die at very end..... I definitely agree its terrible to play without checkpoints.

Thanks for the comments. That dodge-shot-bouncer combo is all about getting the right angle on your take off, I find that starting your dodge away from the ramp is better.

Very nice map as I said on the server, pretty challenging but once you went through all of the obstacles a few times capping is not that hard.
Rushing on the other hand is a pain in the ... lol.
Had a few super good runs but everytime screwed something up before the end which ended up in doing a SAFe run instead an actual good one.
Although I do understand that it's prolly not made as a rush map so nothing to complain there.

I know this is not really a reason for a fix but still that can be pretty annoying to die at for no reason.

Not sure how to rate it though, it's not that hard tbh in a normal run although it's very punishing so I guess R6/R7?

A new map that is definitely worth playing. I like how you themed the map and how much effort you put into decoration and obstacles (some are very well-crafted). It's fairly difficult and challenging.

Interesting explanation as well. I figured it was the journey one takes when dying (seeing how you start in a tomb and travel into the underworld). If you can reach the flag, you earned a place in BT heaven heh. If not, you stay in the doomed SAFe world.

Remnants Of Tartarus storyline

While working in a West Asian desert, a group of archaeologists searching for ancient artefacts, discovered a tomb hidden in the sandstone rock, deep under the desert surface. Inside the tomb they found a huge sarcophagus.

They opened it they found the remains of an unknown life form and a small, ancient chest which contained a set of what appeared to be ancient heiroglyphs. These were immediately taken to laboratories and examined for clues of their existence. Opening the sarcophagus also triggered the activation of a hidden portal, the destination of which is unknown at present.

Once deciphered, the heiroglyphs didn’t provide much insight about the occupant of the tomb, where it came from, what it’s purpose here was or how long it had been buried beneath the desert. However, it told of a mysterious and powerful relic that once belonged to the monstrous being. It said that the relic held the power to close the portal once and for all, but warned of the great dangers and perils that lay ahead should anyone enter the portal to try and retrieve it. It is not known if any humans have ever tried entering the portal, and if they did, whether they managed to return or not.

Soon, news of the discovery had travelled far and wide, as did unconfirmed reports of the ‘souls’ of strange looking creatures seen entering our world from within the portal.

After much discussion on the matter, the global government has decided to send a team of elite soldier-explorers into the portal to investigate. You are the captain of these soldiers and your mission is to locate a return portal, and if possible, find the mystical relic, return home and close the portal forever.

Good luck soldier, our hopes are with you.

Played it. Reached the flag with CP but could not make any progress without it. For me personally, it's one of those maps that I make a progression of 2 steps forward, 1 step back. Over a hundred deaths later and 1 hour of play I had to give up. This does not paint the map in a bad light, far from it. The map and obstacle design is excellent - but punishing for the latter. Colours, lighting, the atmosphere is visually nice and well made. I've been playing BT a shy over 10 years and with many Egyptian theme maps I've played, this is one of the best. Well done.
