Every problem has a solution (at least I hope so Mr. Green).
We're currently discussing the matter internally. We'll hopefuly come with a nice solution which will encourage players to play as a team rather than for their own frags.

How about medic, Change the scoreboard (which i bet u was gonna anyway) So that it don't show frags, but it shows only caps... I know i talk crap most the time but it may work!

i some ims do that..but it only when i shot in the 12st time i see the player...not w8ing for him to catchthe flag..

Mendes : How can you defend if you cant stay in the same area then? Do you really think a team game can work without both attackers and defenders? I understand that u wanna catch the campers/lamers,but your idea aint very good imo. Cool

the "area" that i was talking... is kind a litle square around u.. i know that u defend in an area.. i def too.. but i was talking about a smaller area....

In my opinion SmartCTF is very suitable for ictf public servers - especially for the i4g ones since there are stats. With the right ini-file-settings it can prevent point-whoring a lot. The old point-system is very out-dated anyway and clearly invites to lame for a lot of (stats-)players.

Of course you can adapt the idea of SmartCTF and alter the scoring method manually but i think SmartCTF with its fully aspects (covers-, seals-, assists-, grabs-, caps-, flagkills-display and messages) would make it even better.

As a very nice side-effect it will increase the teamplay noticeable with the right point-system. Stats-players will start to play for the team (and points at the same time).

Especially since in the latest SmartCTF version the player who carried the flag the longest time and did the most work for a cap gets also most points. that's how it should be. Assist and cover points encourage for helping to cap.

This would finally demoralize lame (flag-/stats-)campers and
DM-only-Players and bring them to play real CTF.

Im curious if you will renew the whole stats-system for it. It's really worth while because when there are less lamers you have less trouble and need less admins Wink
