efficiency is the quotient between how many ppl you have killed and how many times you died (actually correcter is how many deaths you were involved in, being your own death or your adversary's).
That means:
Until you have not been killed: 100%
kill 9 people, die 9 times: 50% ( 9/18 )
kill 6 people, die 2 time: 75% ( 6/8 )
get killed 4 times, kill one person: 20% ( 1/5 )

you efficiny is the part which describes your CTF skills...
Less Deaths = Higher Efficency.
more deaths = Lower EfFiceny.
High Scores = Higher efficeny.
Low Scores = Lower Efficeny.
mentors description is more easier to understand i think.

not quite right tho Gav...
You can have a very high score with a low EFF% if you cap and assit alot. Just take a look at Calculs EFF% Average, He has a 42% EFF avg. and a capping avg from 2 per map, and at one time it was even 3 per map. With his capping he has a low EFF but high scores...
Many times, when I have an 65% or higher EFF but no caps, I have a score half that from someone that capped 3 times and only has an EFF of 45%. The points have nothing, or less to do with EFF% with our new scoring system. You will get alot more points assisting your FC, than DMing the mid-field, even if your EFF drops down below 50%.
EFF is just the ratio between kills and deaths, and basicly DM oriented.

Just As Z Said when u play iCTF u when u look at your eff if it shows 50% then half the time u r putting in the effort in respect to capping and helping defend the flag carrier by DMing alittle against the incomming player to protect for carrier
So for instance its a fully server and u getting killed alot then in game u may see 32% so by meaing 32 of the time u r making an impact on the game.
And if it was the other way round with say 72% of the time u are maing alot of impact to tha match itself
The Eff Level in your stats is the average that your currently at

When playin iCTF, efficiency as well as protecting the flag carrier, killing the enemy flag carrier and capturing the flag are all equally important.
To me efficiency is a measure of how you have improved your UT99 skills (some people will call it DMing - i don't) i.e. aiming, dodging and prediction.
The number of FC, EFCk...etc are a measure of your Team Play.
Both effciency and Teamplay are both important.

Efficiency = number of kills / (number of kills + number of deaths).
In English, it's a percentage that shows how much you kill compared to how much you die. If you kill more than you die, your efficiency is above 50%. Etc.

i put much effort into playing and i get lower than 50% or 55% tops but i kill lots time as i can and capture and try not to get mny deaths and its always under 50% realy anoying !

Not really.
If at caves I respawn 5 times in the red cave I always suicide to spawn in midfield (buys you some time). One kill, 5 suicides --> efficiency of 16%
Says shit of your gameplay.
Efficiency doesn't say shit.
If I am defender and both flags are gone, when I go retrieving our flag in NME base I suicide when I returned it to spawn in our base to be able to support our FC as well.
Perfect teamplay --> only bad for efficiency.
Efficiency doesn't count in CTF. Accuracy on the other hand is a much more important parameter.
