You can now play pickups on i4Games by joining our IRC channel: #i4Games on QuakeNet.
The commands are simple:
!pickup will start a pickup game
!vote to vote for a map and/or game type (1on1, 2on2, etc.)
Example: !vote deck 2on2
!add to join a pickup
!remove to leave a pickup
Have fun!

about the server it's played on: is this the war server?
Or your own server?
Or do you just book the warserver in advance?

It sets up the war server automatically when a pickup starts.
You won't be able to start a pickup if the war server is being booked though.

No, only CTF/TDM for the moment. BT could be made too in the near future though.

idd.. i don't play BT but it sounds good too me, i only know 2 BT pickups and there more popular than iCTF/TDM
i think if we can do it, go for it!!

That's a nice option, great work 
Some questions:
While 2 players are playing a 1*1, can some others on IRC interrupt their game by saying !pickup?
And to prevent such interruption or maybe a domination of the server by 2 players or so (playing 10 games in a row),
can you set a maximum number of maps to be played, or can trustees just come on to kick'em out (in a friendly way of course)?
And DM 1*1*1 is no option? Or can it also be TDM 1*1*1, but then of course you are limited to a DM of 4 players (red, blue, gold and green)
