a question about ranking/records

So if there is a map that has 2 versions rating 5 and rating 1. How does it affect your ranking or records or score or whatever if you cap one version or the other? And if a map WAS rated 4 and now it is rated 3 but records were transferred (which they wouldn't be but...) does THIS affect something?

Basically I want to know if there was a map that had 2 different ways of capping (an easy way and a hard way....for just to cap but not rec on easy way or for the possibility to rec on the hard or rush way) would this be a problem with recs or rankings or anything?
