The BT mod timer works this way:

- Starts counting when the player dies
- It is rounded up to the second
- It does not take into account of the time dilatation due to the hardcore mode (which is 110% faster than real-time)

And the i4Games BT mod timer works this way:

- Starts when the player respawns
- It is not rounded (milliseconds are kept)
- It does take into account of the time dilatation which means it reflects the time that really passes in the real world

So the real-time to BT time conversion works like this:

1. As the BT time goes faster (because of the hardcore mode), we have to multiply the real-time by 110% to get the BT-time
2. As the BT mod starts counting from the death of the player, we have to add 1 second which is the minimum time in which a player can respawn after he dies
3. As the BT mod rounds up values to the second, if we get a value of 10.05, it will be rounded to 11

So you get that formula:

BT-Time = (Real-time*110%)+1

I hope this will clear things for many.

Q: Why do we see that we respawn at 00:02 with the (non-i4Games) BT mod?
A: Because from the point you died, at least 1 second has passed. So you'll probably respawn at 1.05 second or something like that. And since the BT mod rounds up, you will see 2 seconds in your HUD.

and i always wondered why sometimes we see some delays on the i4g timer? i.e. the timer starts at 2, or 3, or 4, or more.

delay which of course is not taken in account at the flag cap.

This has been fixed long ago.
The timer the player sees is the exact timer.
Only the spectator timer still has some probs.
Medic will try to fix that later. That is obviousely less important.

but i had no idea where it came from, sometimes starting at 6 with 1 min of game, sometimes at 1 after 20 mins, so it was not the playtime, but what?

It's a bug in the UT time source for the clients.
Like when at the end of a match you see 10.. 9 ... and so on but when it reaches zero, you still have to wait a few seconds.
Medic could help for more details but I guess it's not so important unless you want to release a mod yourself Smile

Since i4Games is part of the world Wink, our certified recs should be an authoritative source of records.
If you want to compare them with the original BT-mod records, use our conversion.

i feel i have to correct this topic.

"BT-Time = (Real-time*110%)+1"

-> "2. As the BT mod starts counting from the death of the player, we have to add 1 second which is the minimum time in which a player can respawn after he dies"

on BT++ you can respawn when the f1 comes up on the screen and you see "shoot to respawn" - this is at 2 seconds exactly. so the minimum time you can respawn is at 2 seconds, BT-Time = (Real-time*110%)+2

i feel like you know this since the converter adds 2 and works. but that means the topic is wrong and should be edited?
