As soon as I 'completed' the spiral I concluded on the map, no need to carry on...I mean wtf, it's obvious Cobra made it crap on purpose, just to bore the shit out of ppl Shame on you lol.

the main problem though is still the boring travelling to the first obsticle, we don't mind difficult movers...as long as we don't need to do a pointless long*ss walk to it and get killed. You could fix this by adding some interesting elements in v2, and thus create an overall better map. But it's your choice whether you leave it as it is, or try to get the best out of things that are already half created.

Maybe it's a good idea to start working with teams of mappers and concept creators, people who never really mapped might have better and wilder ideas than those already stuck with the square boxes in ued. If they create new and original ideas, the mapper with knowledge of ued can work them out. Often it seems that mappers just map to have a new one on their list, instead of trying to create new sensations or innovations.

@Sam: the mover is easy ( 3 Ways, 1: doge to the right plattform then front, 2: Side over it and 3: jump over it, its very easy )

i know i use this texture pack too many in my maps, need new one :S ( if someone got good ones, tell me the names )

and thx for the comment, its not flamed Wink some from my friends like this map, some dont like it. ill try to make my style better in the next map :p

Wow Cobra, this is shocking. Possibly the worst map you've ever made (with the exception of Diablo-HV which was just stupid to being with).

First point: DULL. There are hundreds of UT textures, why do you insist on using the same terrible grey ones over and over again? You could make a lot of your maps look a lot better, just by changing the texture styles.
Your mission from now on is to AVOID using grey textures. Try other things.

Second: All the running. Bonket and I have ALREADY commented on that in Zignixx, and other maps (Impossible etc) also have too much running. The spiral at the start.... WHY??!? Are you trying to make people hate your maps? Because it's working, it really is. The entire map is pretty much running. Sort it out, if you can't think of an obstacle to put somewhere, then close UEd and just think about it for a while, maybe play some other maps to get some ideas. Don't think you can cut corners by just making everyone run for hours, it's not fun and it's not BT.

Third: Room construction. Have you never learned that the good maps nearly always have interesting room shapes? Take a look at some NuLL maps or something. You can't just make a big cube, cover it in boring textures and add some platforms to run along, and call it a map. Make your rooms special, make yourself proud of them, because you can only make a certain map once and you might as well make it good.

Fourth: Obstacles. This is one thing you've always seemed to be good at, creating original obstacles. This time it's not gone well though, has it? After about 2 minutes of running, you get to that crusher-slope thing, and it's stupidly easy to get past. Then some more running and a bouncer before you get to the crushers.... WTF!??? They are too fast, most players will never make it across for sure :S I didn't make it once out of about 5 times, and I'm a fairly good player, so this is totally unbalanced and just ruins the map a little bit more. It doesn't just seem shitty now, it seems broken too. Nice.

I could say more but I'm getting tired of criticising. You have a lot of potential Patrick, I've always said that, but you have got to do better than this. If you want to become a great mapper, you need to think about what I've said and try and use it in your next map... it should be a very good start anyway.

Sorry I flamed this so badly but it really is THAT bad. Smile

extremely boring start, 45sec before you come to first real obsticle, then you die and start again? Have you played this map?

I suggest you make that first cilinder pathway into ice or something, maybe with some gaps so you at least don't feel like wasting time.

You have the mapping skills so use for them for the good instead of the bad.
