It's hard one, it took me days of tries to cap it, but satisfaction is there Smile
If I had to point out a flaw, it would be hardest obstacles at the end of the map. Besides that map is very nicely done and colours tone (for me) are pleasant.

Id given perfectly justifiable input without being offensive you on the other hand have taken it upon you self to try to make me sound otherwise.

I would have thought given that its a map for a game the general idea of a game regardless of genre is for "fun" (granted some are for training purposes of course)

"over-analysing" really? i saw something i did not like and tried to steer someone in the direction of a visual adjustment how is that "over-analysing" ?

i could go on a massive rant about this and that about the map, the fact i took the time to look at it and make my opinion know was a sign of showing interest in what was there and to encourage to make more but better obviously, which was clearly stated at the end of the post.

This and your message are totally off topic so in that light, get back to the map and keep it constructive maybe?

Am I the only one who thinks Null's comment is handy rather than harsh? Decent feedback for once. Anyway, map is pretty hard, but that may be my lack of practice. It contains some really cool obstacles that are pretty well thought out, gj. have not found a safe way to the home-flag yet, so for me that's really punishing.

You're over-analysing a map which was made for one reason: fun. I'm good friends with Sapphire, and know he put a lot of work into this map. I can tell you that the vast majority of people who play this will overlook the amount of attention to detail which went into this.

For example, the movers are StandOpenTimed, not BumpOpenTimed, which prevents them moving unwantedly when you bump into them (something which I note is frustratingly absent from your own maps). Their return times have also been made small, so players do not need to wait for them to return.

Sapphire and Dizzy wrote several custom classes for the map which replaced things like teleporters, Skaarj rockets, and the projectiles at the end. Custom sounds were also massively incorporated, particularly in the "scary zone", as was triggered silence and multiple music tracks.

So to imply that too little effort was put into this map is outrightly wrong.

Some of your own maps are amongst my own favourites, and while you obviously dedicate much of your mapping time to architecture, there will always be maps which are made strictly for enjoyability. Deft is one of those. And it's a good one.

@SKiLLeD - Yeah it sucks it has to be removed but it's i4g rules unfortunately, any map that has the possiblity of killing the enemy team is only uploaded to BT2.

It's an easy fix like Pawel said. The mapper (Sapphire) is very active on other servers so the map shouldn't be edited by anyone without his/her permission. As far as I know, Sapphire has no interest in i4g and wasn't even planning on sending this map to i4g - I asked beforehand if it was okay for someone to upload it to i4games and he/she agreed. I guess if you see Sapphire around just alert them of the problem and ask if they would be kind enough to fix it or let Roel or Zan fix it. Just don't flood him/her with requests and don't bitch if they have no intention of making a v2. You can't really do much more than that unfortunately..

yeah this are the rules on i4g however there should have a rule saying that if the mapper is nowhere to be found within a month, another mapper can fix. Coz a lot of good map are left on bt2 dying and this one especially is brillant i think.

You shouldn't argue with what had been done, trustees do what they have to. It was obvious that map with such a thing will be removed from a main server. It is fixable of course, but we need Saphire's move first. If he decide to repair it ( he doesn't have to remove sky arena, simply blocking air by windows or anything can solve problem, so less than a minute job imo ), we need to wait. Or if he let someone fix, then Roel or someone can -v2' it without any problems. No idea is he active or not, trustees should contact him for that. So he can fix his map quickly, or in following weeks ( or months Mad ), map will be back on servers after someone get interested in fix, unless Saphire appears. But as I said, everything depends on author's will and not much can be done now.

I've read your comment before but I didn't thought recommendation of one person can be base for removing the map from BT1. It's pity, especially that on every other server this map is present and there's no complaining about this bug. Someone really has to be an ass.... to do what you've wrote about Crunch. Is it possible to make an i4g edition of this map and erase the cat room / sky area - or just disable the teleport in team without this area? As you wrote this is really decent map and it's pity to ban it from main server map list.

What you guys are talking about isn't a shortcut. It takes longer to run through the monster hallways and get to the bouncer than it does to run the map properly, without mistakes. Think of it more of an unintentional noob way I guess?

Anyway the map should be removed and left on BT2 unfortunately, as FKY almost discovered, the cat room / sky area is only on one side of the map. This means the teleporter used to get there takes both teams to the same place allowing you to kill eachother and also allows blue team to access red side of the map and kill whoever they please, it's even possible to get to the spawn location of the opposite team and be annoying.

Nice map though, I like it. Unfortunate about the bug.

I forget which team the monster teleporter takes you to so it might be the opposite of what i explained, its definitely possible to access one team from the other though.

Wow, this map brought a lot of inactive players. Surprised
wtf NuLL, being inactive for ages and then building so constructive comment on a new random map? I don't say it's bad but.... kinda speciffic.
About map itself - it looks decent, and unlike NuLl said, it is nice as it is. Not need any improvements, because it has it's own originality, which I appreciate.
I blame one thing - unbalanced difficulty. Indeed, why doing sort of easy obstacles at start, and the hell at the end? I know, after some practise and.... undiscovered methods ( Hellfire Razz ), it's not that hard at all. Indeed, obstacles are tricky. It takes ages to run throughout it without checkpoints and without dying in flagroom twice for no reason. >.....<
Oh, and nice monster arena, and lmao @ cat's room and music in last waterpool. Very Happy
Too bad about lame shortcut though. :c GJ normal for finding it.
OVERALL SCORE: 7/10 ; Difficulty rating: 6-7.

thought i should report this:
you can skip part of the map by going to tele at other side, go past the monsters, up the lift and then you can dodge or just run down, land on the small red bouncer and continue from there
