When I looked at it in the editor I discovered the reason. There is a 2nd sheet with a lava texture at the same place as the portal sheet. This sheet is just added, so you could say it's a "solid sheet"(blue lines in stead of green). Remove it and its just fine (I tested it). I Think I know why the sheet is added. I think the mapper didn't want the lava to be transparent, and unchecking the "transulent" box doesn't work (I tried). Next time just place a new sheet with different properties instead of just addin a new one on top of it.
