Lots of negative comments. Don't wonder, Ozma. My vote is going to them. Chr1st wrote the best conclusion so +1. I like room before flags but nothing else. Tar zones was definitely stupid idea and again DJ_Sonik.... Dunno what problem has Emil with flagroom. 1.5/10

As for the "my brain works in abstract ways" comment - yes, I think we had already worked that one out (you have a map called Lava Tea Party) ...!

So I realized what the whole problem on this map was....
I should have left a post about what this really is instead of letting people comment first.
(Just so you all know I really DO listen to ALL comments and I am not really offended0
I was a bit surprised that people hated this map as much as they did but...
here is what I should have said before people left comments...

New map BT-SHAPES:
So this map was really a test map, I decided to mess around with the 2d editor to see if I could make entire rooms with it. So (I can't use terrain brush thing yet) the whole map is just 2d shapes that are beveled.
At first it was just a test build room but as I laid out the shapes below each other I got inspired to actually make some sort of map with it because I kind of liked the fall to shapes without cratering thing. And the mega room with 2 kickers.
I did not spend much time making it, it is not realistic at all, it's just a short easy map that I thought would be fun to play.
Mostly I just wanted to do all rooms in 2d editor and make a 4 part short map, and also I wanted to put out some new liquid textures and a new nebula sky box for future mappers. (of course I didnt create a UTX but there will be one with my next map)

I put this map out because I thought it was fun and thought some other people would think it was fun too.
Sorry it was not fun at all for most people. I didn't think it would be a classic or really often played but I also didn't think it would be so horrible either. Most of what I do (in any medium) is abstract, that is how my brain works but this map was just a quick build to put out something (since it had been so long) and something that I thought would be kind of fun (but for others mostly wasn't).
Technically this isn't a REAL map because I didn't make it like I do the others, and I should have said so first.
None of my other maps are even remotely like this one. But I hope that at least some people had fun on this map.

BTW I have lots and lots of maps going at the same time so that is why it SEEMS like I am not listening to what people are saying. I AM listening but those maps haven't been finished yet so it seems like I am not interested in peoples feedback and suggestions.
I think people will like my next map (I hope). I can promise that it is nothing like this one.

Played it offline, I don't mind it either. Its nice to play something different every now and then.

The skybox is nice, I like it. I'm not so much a fan of slow water but it's not so bad.

First of all, why should everyone want an easy map? Where did you get that?
Second, easy does not mean low-effort.
Don't complain about "i love how people hate all my maps". People like Raylen give you proper feedback in order to improve your maps and avoid any other negative comments. However, you seem to ignore the feedback, resulting in negative comments. It's good to have your own style, but you don't seem to be prepared for any changes. Given that people don't like your style of mapping, you might want to deal with the comments if you're not ready to change it.
Yes, Roel, of course people sometimes "push" a mapper into a certain framework. It's not some abstract painting where you have all the freedom you want. The main purpose of a map is that it's playable, because it's a game.
I can appreciate a map like Krall-Fortress. You put a lot of effort into it and the obstacles aren't that bad.
Then something else, as long as you are proud of the map, it's okay. In the end, it's the mapper who should have some "fun" while mapping. But if you release it, there are some sort of "boundaries" to make it playable. You still have enough freedom. There are lots of different styles among the BT list.

Suck it up Ozma.

Your maps are unconventional. They're filled with randomness: random obstacles, random shapes, random textures, random lighting, random monsters, etc etc. When you make unconventional maps you can expect the majority (including myself) to dislike it. I know it can be very discouraging when you get this kind of criticism. Just think carefully about the group you're targeting, take their advice and ignore the others.

I sometimes don't get why people always try to push mappers into a certain framework, seriously, let everyone please develop their own styles, it would be rather boring if all maps looked the same. (Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with giving feedback though)

I tried really hard with your previous maps to give you constructive criticism, so that you would be able to improve, and make maps that looked better. But you quite obviously aren't interested in that. My comment is just an amusing observation of my own reaction - I was playing it, thinking it was some old-school map, with a couple of guys who I don't know that well. I actually bothered to type "this is the worst map i have ever played" before I shut down UT. Then it genuinely made me smile when I later saw that you had produced the map. So, to clarify:

I don't like the overall theme - I am aware the game is called UNreal tournament - but random shapes floating in space, followed by a low gravity maze with cars and monsters does not appeal to me. Give me a futuristic space station, a castle, a factory...I don't mind, as long as it actually looks like a recognisable enrivonment.

I don't like the lighting - you have 3 (three) lights across the entire map. I despise ZoneLight at the best of times, but the extent to which it's used here...it just makes the map harder to play, because you can't make out any contrast between surfaces, and it makes it look worse, for obvious reasons.

Maybe it's me...maybe I just don't "get" the map...

Ok look here's a tip that will help you to make a different map from the ones you already have: don't use the 2d editor at all, and don't use the terrain brush at all. Try it!

i love how people trash me and say all my maps suck....
really....
its just a map. it's got textures like that so that people can use them in their maps, I thought I'd provide some new water and a new skybox.
It's not really supposed to be anything phenomenal.

It IS a simple map isn't that what everybody wanted?
It took me maybe a week to make off and on while I was working on other things.
I only made it to give out new textures and to have a simple easy map done while I am working on others.
And to put something out because it has been a while.
So people hate this map etc etc...nothing's changed.
Now I think I understand why I see so many one map authors...to much flaming and stuff.
But I will still make maps, and hopefully there will be one that people actually like eventually.

BTW it is actually quite original, it isn't a piece of crap, and people need to relax a bit more.
If you hate the map say something like I didn't like it because: (non directly insulting comment here).

How is it not so bad? ROFL. Even if this map had the most outstanding looks, it would blow. Total lack of originality in this map. I seriously don't get it. You know nearly everything about the editor (terrain, healthzones, monsters, extraordinary movers) but still, you make a map like this. I rest my case to be honest. More effort and "slightly" more realistic in terms of looks please.

lol. I was playing this map, and I hated it, so I shut down UT. Then I logged on again sometime later when it was playing, and I saw "Ozma777".

Suddenly, everything made sense. I just don't know how you manage to destroy unreal on such a consistent basis!
