Lets bump this up.

I am working on a 10 slots server located in chicago.

Name will be Fragnesscity BT Server [USA}

ip is 8.12.19.129:7777 its not up or from time to time it is till i got it running like it should.

So check from time to time.

For UK Users, and alot of Europe members, Amsterdam(NL) servers seem to be the best for connection and pings.

I nearly had a USA Clan Server, but the ping to the USA is awful and seems to cause more problems than for good. And as I think that the most members on i4g are from Europe and i4games money being so low, it just will not help in the long run.

I think the reason i4g server can be laggy at times (mainly peak) is because all 9 servers are hosted on one box(?). I feel really sorry for the box Laughing

The only way it can made better at i4games is if donations kept coming in and can get another box. 5 on one, 4 on the other (5th being Sniper Server if it happens rofl)

Well I don't have a problem with ping here. It's around 30 all the time Cool

Recently, playing on i4games servers is like playing on American servers, had really bad lag, and its from everyone Sad

yo, this topic was started almost 1 and a half years ago and in general we all agree we miss out on alot of nice and skillful players from america who have nowhere to play in our community.

Any chance we can look at this situation again?
before i hear the reply about the donation status, yes - i have thought about that. obviously this would mean having the USA server in the package replacing another server (BT2 for example) so there is no extra cost, not to mention some americans sound willing to donate for this specific idea. Obviously all access would be for i4g alone despite other people's funding.
anyway i think its a good idea to diversify the community a bit and im not actually too clear from what iv read, what the problems are with this idea.

We always had a dedicated server, meaning we install what we want on it. Removing a game server won't help in costs.

People bitched about having a ZP iCTF server.... wow thats very active isnt it *cough*

All UT servers are on one box.
To have ONE SERVER in the US, it would cost alot extra, not just a little to give Medic the access he wants and needs and interacivity between the servers and website.

Time to bump this up again!!

Ok first things first, when talking business i need to know the dollar amount to get a USA server established and i need to know that my money will go into the creation of this server. So if Medic can pm me the info to this i am more then willing to throw some money at it.

Being located in California gives me the right to state that my ping SUCKS on these servers (200 f1 f6 im scared to look) and i am not the only american player that shares this same frustration (specially rushers). I feel that american players should be able to share the benefits that i4games has to offer in bt but because of high ping, it prevents players from playing in your servers. There is no doubt in my mind that activity will be high on an i4g american server based on the activity i see in USA alone (more players then fbt and i4g servers combined at times).

The addition to an i4g american server would generate more competition for records, play time, # of maps capped, etc. And would create a higher volume of traffic for website hits aswell as possible i4games hosted clan wars.

Like i said in the beginning, just show me the numbers and i will throw money at this subject to turn a topic idea into a reality.
