I can no longer play UT, due to my excessive ping
don't all cheer at once!!!!
My typical ping is now 200-300 which makes UT unplayable. I think i have tracked the problem down to the fact that my trace route shows me hopping to routers in the US before getting to the I4g servers. Not only that, the speed of my phone line has been reduced to between 1 and 1.5mbps by the telecom company to help cater for all the extra internet users in our area. If they did not reduce the available speed to each line, then the telephone exchange/lines would not be able to cope with demand and users would suffer unstable internet use and hence disconnections!
Is anybody else suffering the same fate as me?

Well a suggestion could be that you reboot your ut(Re-install) it. This wont take so long because if you already have ut downloaded then it will just replace most fo the common mods, but things like maps etc. wont need re-installing unless the files are damaged. Another suggestion would be to repair your connection and internet provider. You could also try to replace your internet cable ro wire-less link to mend any flaws
Hope i could have helped here

reboot ???
rebootign means " to start up again ". Like a pc that you reboot? :p means you put it off for a sec and put it on again
Besides it's not a UT thing. It's his isp being rather asses i think. It seems they don't have any good infrastructure...
change isp man. if you are able to. get something more decent

Well i didn't mean to say reboot Thanks for correcting me on that metoch, i agree the isp has really bad infrastructure and i think he should change the isp-if he wants to get onto ut again

Its not UT, the isp or cabling/router within my house, it is the external cabling/exchange, which is beyond my and my isp's control unfortunately.

You can always contact your ISP about it. Send them the traceroutes (or the links to your traceroutes) as proof.

Tried talking to my isp, but they are about as useful as a chocolate teapot, like all other isp's i suppose.
They all blame everybody else but themselves.
