3FM serious request

Yeah! Today Serious Request started again here in Holland.
This year there are houses in Gent (Belgium) and Malmö Sweden. I find this a really good initiative, the station is doing such good work in these days for christmas. They just give that special feeling to my holidays.

Serious Request is an initiative of the musicstation 3FM and the Red Cross here in Holland. During 1 week 3 dj's of the station are living in a glass house without any food. They are trying to raise awareness for a good cause and collect as much money as possible for this good cause. They do this by ofcourse playing music for money.

Last year the cause was about Clean water in 3rd world countries. They managed to collect over 5 million euro in 6 days here in Holland.

This year the initiative is for refugees. And hopefully they will collect even more money this year than last year.

It's great to see other countries participating for this cause aswel.

Maybe the reply is a bit late, but anyways. I think it a very good initiative, too. some firends of mine and I gathered at 4.30 in the morning to cycle to Breda (where the house was) to donate money. We were there at 5.30 in the morning and stayed till 9. Very Happy

On one of the radio stations that I listen to when I'm driving is doing a thing soft of similar. People can call their phone number and can donate money to a charity, and then they request a song and it is played right away.
