i4g American server

If there's a demand from US to have an i4Games BT server, I can give it a try. I guess you guys are also interested into rushing with a decent ping and a decent timer?

In Europe, a dedicated server hosting can range from 50 to 200 dollars per month. It depends on several factors actually. I've no idea how much it is in the US.

Question: West or East coast? Wink

You're in CA, so that's West for you. But I wonder where the majority of US BT players are. Or.. We need servers at both ends.

That is mostly the biggest demand, rushing with a decent ping. So im thinking it would be best for a rush server first (americans will still have to cap the map on euro training server).

Now the question is seeing that dedicated servers are more expensive compared to hosted/leased servers, does this server have to be dedicated? (im guessing because dedicated gives you full control and website features aswell)
Im asking because a hosted server runs around $6-$10 a month...compared to $50-$200.

And the best location would be Chicago seeing that its in the middle of the US pretty much and mostly all americans can ping under 100 no matter their location.

Ive also read in this post about some server space you may have that are not being utilized but you cant convert them to US servers. But can you not just drop the payments for that server and use tho's funds to open a US server instead? Either way money will still be put into by me but i just wanna get the specifics down.

There is only one dedicated server that hosts all our UT servers actually. I prefer a dedicated one for several reasons:
It's easier for me to maintain and install all the i4Games-related stuff.
It allows me to run a web server with a local copy of the database for faster logins.
It ensures the privacy of data such as the login and password of members.

I've searched for dedicated hosting in the US, but it's more expensive than in EU. I'll keep searching...

medic, another idea for you to save some money is get rid of servers like zp instagib, sniper and the war server.... for your own sacvings

just heared about a prododgemod in UT2k4. It's the same as BT but then UT2k4 ( NOT TRIALS!). the main database died some time ago. dno if many players till play it. but if you got a UT2k4 BT community could be nioce? Very Happy

Theres only one server i play on anymore. Its the server of mastery beta. I don't know why but out of most servers my ping is bettter there so i always play there. I was wondering why my ping is better there then on any other i4g server? I am an american from washington!
