So I just noticed that some of rating 10 maps was decreased to r9-r8. Could anyone please explain why? Rating should be set for average players. You shouldn't depend on what skilled players say... And in the end of the day if you play map a lot, doesn't matter how hard it is it will become easy. Many players increase in skill and rate maps depending on their current skill which is not right. Think of it as average player before rating. That's just my thoughts.
Cube should stay r10
Megalo should stay r10
Vault should go back to r10
Now most people who capped these maps again won't agree. Why? Because they played those maps thousands of times and they became easy for them. Was it easy when you first played them? I bet not.

First time I saw this map I wouldn't even think about number 10 lol

But it's also hard to make rating which will suit the best for everyone.... \o/

imo would be a great addition if players decided the ratings. i have made similar behaviour in applications, sure medic could do it no problemo if he had time. for example, on the maps comments page, give a rating chooser 1/10, then make it so the difficulty reflects the average rating received. this way, i4g staff don't have to spend time doing it, and the rating reflects majority of players thoughts

i am not a factor in bt coz i played it only in the early days when rushing wasnt there yet so just ignore my point if u want....
ofc hard maps become easy if u play them a lot. same is in insta if u play vs good ppl u will soon become ecual to them and one day even own them all.
but still rating should be made by average ppl.

rating should represent all bt players, its a feature for all players right? you would not say its there just for average players, so why shouldnt very new players and very skilled players have input on it

Some like to share and give us (the i4g staff) them advice in some rating.
Some old maps have to be rate adjusted too.
when it comes to high rates, its hard for me to adjust them because i cap only few of them. So i have to ask some good players what they think about some high rated maps, but i always asked them to try to see as an average player.
But its not for a first cap anyway, its an average player who learn and play a lot this map. A true average player can't cap D8 to D10 so we have to be average/good players for those maps.
severals players noticied Cube had to be reactualized (less than D10).
few said that Haryuu-No shoudlnt be D10.
and same with Megalomap.
If some have to be rechange, there is no problemo with that. Just speak with us instead of "flaming" only when there is a change.
We always pay attention when some give rates advice (in map comments, directly to us, in pm, in post, etc). BUT at end we set the rates (those are indications and are not here to annoy players lol).
As we are fewer to play, helps are always welcome. And for those who don't share because they might think its the staff job only ; well rates are to help every players on evaluating the difficulty of a map (don't forget the lenght is a factor too).
We cant please all ofc, some wont agree on some rates because we are all different regarding the traps we encounter. But if 90 % are agree with a rate, it should be fine.
(and beeing patient help too, i still have to check the rate of a map that pawel advice me to change a month ago ).
Lots of player stay young (or not), and are harsh with us (without wanted sometimes), by saying, " gay rates, gay map, gay admins " or worse ... more education would fit more guys ...

The problem with mike's idea that people will not be "serious" and post for example like D10 for ar map tha should have D1 or somethin like that.
I personally am mostly only able to set rating that will range from 1-5 perhaps sometimes 6, as maps from 7 onward are still pretty hard for me and therefor hard to judge objectively. For harder maps like that I usually take some rough avarage I hear around.
However, player's input is always welcome, I for example receive lists with suggested ratings once in a while. But what I would like even more if people would give some good argumentation with those ratings. When I for example get a suggestion "change this 7 to 8" I immediately wonder: why? Of course, just "the map is hard/easy", "i can't cap it" is not really good argumentation.
Oh and about the changed ratings, I think most of them are ok, perhaps only megalo?

I definitely agree with the new ratings for Haryuu and Cube, and I suck at Cube more than a lot of people. Besides, some of the harder r10 maps make Cube and Haryuu look very easy in comparison, so I guess it is important to find some kind of balance when rating.
