I have some weird problem that my mouse is acting weird once in a while.
Sometimes when I launch UT, moving to mouse to the left is perfectly fine, but moving to the right is extremely slow. Restarting UT once or twice gets rid of it, but it is a bit annoying to do.
It is only there now for like two months, and I have absolutely no clue why it appeared, as the problem was not there before. I remember having the same problem some years ago on some other PC, but I can't remember if I solved the issue there, and if so, how.
I did update my GFX drivers and I have also done a complete reinstall of my laptop two weeks ago, but the problem was already there before, so I don't think that is the cause.
I am using D3D9, not entirely sure if it happens on OGL, but OGL has the tendency to crash my UT. I heard enabling DirectInput in the UT settings sometimes helps, but this give a very strange feel to the mouse I can't get used to, I am really used to the current settings as I have been using them pretty much ever since I started UT (even if they may not be too optimal as I have mouse acceleration enabled).
I also have a quadcore processor, and I have Intel Speedstep enabled, but it worked fine before with this.
Does anyone have a solution?

Inside your UT.ini find this line [D3D9Drv.D3D8RenderDevice]
Change SwapInterval=1 ---> SwapInterval=0
if it's already on 0 try 1 or -1 forgot the values but i know that 0 / 1 work and have an effect of the mouse.

I know swapinterval 0 (disabling vSync), I have had this setting for years now. Changing the value only make things worse (mouse lagging behind).

Can you try using D3D8? i also had problems in the past with D3D9 / 10 / 11
8 seems the most stable.
also if you have a nvidia card you can check in the control panel for
maximum pre rendered frames try to lower or higher this setting.

D3D8 give strange coloured lines on the edge of my screen, for me D3D9 is the most stable. Also, the problem persists.
Maximum pre rendered frames was set to application controlled, and changing the value did not seem to help either.
The strange thing is that it is not a permanent problem. It only happens like once in every 5 times I start UT. Maybe also "lag" is not entirely the right term. The movement to the right is just 3x slower than movement to the left.
This are my D3D9 settings:

have you tried a different usb port for the mouse or a different mouse?
the mouse could be faulty.

also happens with another mouse, also, if the mouse would be defective, It would happen outside of UT too which it doesn't

Ok, I think I may have found the issue, and it feels completely ridiculous. It seems to be related to my screens refresh rate.
My screen supports 50 and 60 Hz, and I had both UT and Windows set to 60. I used to have Windows set to 50, which was the default, but I did not see any harm in increasing it to 60 (other than decreasing the battery life of my laptop). UT has always been set to 60. Now I switched the Windows settings back to 50 and the problem seems to have gone away, I may need to test it more, but the problem did not occur like last 20 launches.
I have no clue how screen refresh rate has any influence on the mouse, but it seems to solve the issues....
