In a previous closed thread in the help forum this was said:

If you followed the rules that would have never happened.

And your poll is really a bad idea. It only shows the lack of respect you have to the admins. So, you deserve your ban.

If you don't like CN because he makes sure the rules are respected, then you have nothing to do on i4Games.

i am really surprised about the fact that a couple of players have complained now about cn and about (in their understanding) an unjust ban. doing a poll is not the right way to talk about this issue, also closing the thread was no solution.

some admins know my story and i also did not understand my ban by cn in the past because there was no evidently reason.

it really leaves the impression that cn acts with personal feelings sometimes and these should clearly not affect admin decisions. also see this thread from this forum.

further i watched some admins who apply double standards. they warned me for defending 3 min behind base on the map eternal-caves-red that i only did as a reaction because the opponent had 2 defenders behind base themselves. if they warn me, all who did it should have been warned. but the opponents didnt stop doing it so i guess they weren't warned.

another example, a mate of me was directly banned after suiciding 1 time with the bomb. he intended to cover the FC with it, unluckily he killed an admin. but if other players do this nothing happens, even when there's an admin on the server.

such admin actions are questionable because it appears that they don't judge everyone the same as they should. so personal feelings seem to affect some decisions.

i would like to hear other experiences with the admins, good or bad, so we can rate if the rules are followed, not only by the players also by the admins because the elbowroom of the admins should be limited by the rules.

Here is a scoop: admins are humans.

We can make mistakes, and if that happens a polite discussion is welcome (that's from the rules).

There is absolutely no point into hating CN or any other admins. Even though CN is a though admin, he will appreciate an adult reaction from the players he bans - and act in consequence.

People usually see a mistake from an admin as a personal attack (with "he doesn't like me" or "he didn't accept the fact we had more points" or other stupid comments like that). That's not true.

For instance, about that vengeance-suicide ban, the admin realized his mistake, unbanned the player and apologized.
He didn't banned because he was killed - but rather because he saw what happened.

To conclude, I'll repeat myself: admins are "just" humans. We can't be everywhere and know everything. We just do our best to keep the servers clean.
And we would like you to do your best by 1. reading the rules and 2. keep an adult behaviour when something bad happens.

I want to add that it's harder to keep a clear view as to decide when to ban. Some people tend to know how close they can come to the line of breaking a written rule / unwritten rule.

Your post, apart form the last part, gives me the impression admins/trustees are the 'bad' people on the server. Keep in mind that not everybody behaves like an angel on the server/irc/user messages.

i think players who got better skills also will seen as a camper/lamer sooner as a less-skilled player. For instance when i defend sometimes for tactical reason or giving cover and shot 3 people from behind they already start to whine about im beeing lame.

i don't have problems with the admins, but sometimes i think they have to be more a role model, for example team balance when its 5 vs 3 or something. when they are in the team with 5 players not all admins (lucky most do) don't change team to balance, if i'm in the team of 3 that's very frustrating.

The problem does not come with admins but with some players.
You used yourself the term "a couple of players" and that really sums up the whole story.

They get a ban and it's always the same answer from them :
- I did nothing
- You are lame (or worse)
- You abuse admin powers
- My brother/sister did it while I was away
- ...

When their ban is over, they come back and do the same things or other things that are clearly mentioned as not wanted on the server.
Then they are surprised when they are banned again.
After that, their answer is always something like :
- <insults>
- You abuse admin powers
- I am better than you, that's why you want me out
- My brother/sister did it (again) while I was away
- You hate me don't you ?
- ...

What they don't understand is that rules are not there for nothing. Rules are there to preserve the good ambiance on the server. Admins and trustees are there to enforce them.

That really pisses me off to have to stop playing to give a warning/kick/ban or explain the rules to someone who should have read them or have the brains to understand that what he/she does is wrong/disrespectful. When I am on a server, I'd rather play than having to do that.

When I make an error banning/kicking someone, I always acknowledge it because I am honest. Players that try to say otherwise are in the "couple of players" category. (see above). I have usually no problem with the immense majority of the other kind.

i totaly agree with couille, and ever it knows :

- that and that one is doing the same too, so i can do it too Twisted Evil

and ever all think we make only jokes, but is hard to watch 14 players at same time, and all are ever crying for assrunning, that happen so fast.

I think they are 2 groups of reasons for kick/ban:
- the first one very easy to manage: cheating with a bot ...
In this case, imo there is no discussion possible, the player just don't respect the rules and it is clear
- the second one is more difficult to see/juge... : the lame play.
As Young said it isn't that easy to see all that happen on a server: for exemple the assrun; if a player do that an admin don't necessary see him do it, in this case the lamer is lucky and will have any problem. But in the case an admin see him, he'll receive an advertising and if he don't stop will be kick/ban.
In my sens an admin can't take count of what an other player whine about, because some players are complaining each time they are killed more than they think they must be. In this case the other player don't necessary lame.
In such situation an admin can't kick/ban a player.
The only think an admin can do is try to see if effectively the player lame or not.

In conclusion stop lame the admins and say " i've been banned because the admin said i lame but this player do it also and haven't been banned" Just think the admin can't see all, but if the other player continue to lame he'll be prolly see one day by an admin and be banned.

So what if your Brother/Sister did it. don't let them on your account!

At the end of the day, your account, your reponsibility.

CN is a nice guy, Fun too, And because he is human, if he is in a bad mood (same with other admins) then yea, he might react stronger than he normally would. I havn't seen it yet tho Wink.

So erm, Yea Razz

As for ass-running. I got called an asser just because i turned around and they went past me so i fragged them.
You have to shoot the other team, thats the aim of the game (And to cap, lol). I think assing is a lame excuse really...
Keep looking behind you, then you wont get shot!

run-by shootings are one thing... but if u go out of your own base and an enemey (in your base) chases you all the way into enemey base, thats quite something different... and it happens more often than most realize... seen it alot when i spec, thats why I tell people to "stop assing please"... and then they say "who me?"... very disturbing... :/
