I don't agree that school years were best, at least when you leave school and start work you get paid for ya time, plus work can have many perks like stealing from the stationary cupboard lol. The real hell IMO is when you fly the nest and move out of ya parents home, cos then ya money gets eaten very quickly with bills and rent Wink

yeah you're a tough guy :p

Imagine the 40 years after, a boss telling you the same as your teacher did, only 10 times worse because in that case, everything you don't do or do slow costs him money.

For the teacher it's only for his ego.
For the boss it's ego, money and power.

Which do you think is worse?

Besides that, count the 3-4 months holiday at school and compare them with 26 days off in an entire year of work?

An and next: compare the 8-9 working hours a day with the ... what is it? 7 times 50 minutes of school where you're allowed to sleep on top?

Hmm
difficult choice ... really difficult ...

and I know you earn money with working, and that is needed to live proper. But as long as you don't really need it. Enjoy yer school years guys and girls, because it IS paradise !!

I partially disagree Mentor. I've just finished my studies 2 months ago. Now I can finally do that which I like (progging) as my work. Going back to school is certainly not my idea of paradise at this moment Razz

I know, I had the same opinion at that time, that's why i didn't do an extra year of school.

And I did have the chance to choose what I loved to do, but it's not always what you love to do when you work for someone. In the beginning it is, but after a while, this weakens, until you really wish you could be in the freedom of school again Smile

All depends of your work of course. Some ppl have it early, others later and few not at all. Talk with ppl that work for more than 5-10 years and hear what they say Smile

Don't wanna break your balloon of illusion but just try it Smile

during my schoolyears, i have ben thinking this is really hell... when i finished my schooltime, i promised myself not to go back anymore into a school, and to enjoy now the real nice life.

6 years have spent since i left school, and now working hard for money (not so hard, ok Very Happy ) but ... Schoolyear was really enjoying compare to working.

All high conversation would never be better than your own experiment ! You'll see it by yourself, and you will remember.

Whatever, we don't want to give lifelesson, but only this advise : enjoy the best you can each day spent at school, or somewhere lese, cause this is really the best year into a life ! (maybe witbh the pension / retired)

Enjoyr your life everywhere !

^^ hmm.. i just worked for 3 years now.. and i agree with mentor. only for the freedom...

well, i enjoyed school a lil to much at the time and kinda hoffed up what i was there for Rolling Eyes Confused

my advise: when your still at school, start think about what u want to become in the future. Wink

I agree to that shitteh. I didn't know what to do when I was graduated. I picked physics because i was good at it. But after a year I knew it was not the proper choice. So I went to the conservatory (main course piano). I did this for two years, but I found out that I was not able to cope with all this pressure. 6 hours studying on the piano and going to college for the theory courses.
Then I choose to do a work/study in a psychiatric hospital as a psychiatric nurse. Again this was not the good choice. I was suitable for the work but I didn't agree with the way the teaching went. I will not go into that now though.

Now I work at an ICT company (Computer business) for 4 years and I do a parttime study 2 evenings a week. Now I wish I thought harder about what I wanted to do sooner/earlier in life, because this is not what I would recommend to anybody.
