A greeting
Greetings, as I might have said earlier. I got the game yesterday and got really fired and excited. I guess with this finally the project can start. However, aside the basic functions the mod is going to have. I also want to know what the people want to suggest, add or see different.
I received dozens of PM's on IRC or forums with all kind of suggestions and help offer but to be honest I am getting confused with most of them and forgot alot of the people. My apologies, that is why I was thinking of this thread. I hope this will act as a central collection for ideas.

Request
What I am asking from the community is ideas and comments about the features in the mod. Features! Other game modes or twisted modes of BunnyTrack are for the future. Right now I prefer to setup a core mod which will act as the heart of BunnyTrack.

About mapping (beside the mod)
If you want to help BunnyTrack out with mapping. Be my guest! Map as your heart pleases but please release prepare your maps with the BT Prefix. I would highly appreciate it. I know there are some UT3BT mapping teams out there like NuLL's.

Custom things for BunnyTrack
If you read what I have in mind below ( about the flag for example ). I am still looking for someone who can realise this. Perhaps you can design more bunnytrack stuff like a giant bunnystatue which acts as markinglogo for Bunnytrack. I would be pleased if someone can do this since I simply suck at modeling. Still learnign =/ Please post here if you feel like to help out =)

Feel free to add comments or suggestions. Do not flame eachother for "that is an stupid idea". Each idea is welcome, at the end I will see what the majority wishes and try to realise it. But please keep it to strictly mod discussion. Do not turn this thread into bashing, flaming or Offtopic discussion. I hope the moderators can help me out here aswell.

The mod discussion begins
This what I had in mind as starting out.

- BT Prefix, in my opinion highest priority. To mark BT as a seperate gamemode.
- Noboost feature, a must for public games.
- Transparent/Ghost players, counts as noboost feature. Decreases "lame" factor on public games.
- Timer function aka Record tracking, I got no knowledge about this but I know it is like the biggest discussion in the community. So open for suggestions but please read the red note!
- Upon capture death, as in classic BT mod.
- Modified flags to present true Bunnytrack. Like a little bunny on the top of the pole and a nice picture inside the flag ( No advertising logos!! A standard general neutral logo )
- Modified scoreboard ( same as modified flags )
- Tournament mode like the classic UTBT mod. When activated the finished player dies and becomes a spectator. He or she cannot support his/her team anymore. This forces teamplay in a sort of way. And I actually want to see this for sure in the mod. But yea... I also want to hear from the community.

i think we need to explore the possabillity's of the UT first.
like the moements that can be used for BT, in the meanwhile, coders can work on the general BT mod you are talking about.

anyway, i'll take a look for the BT logo, and giant bunny statue...
(personal opinion: the bt statue should be modeled on ut99, the game in wich BT has been founded...)

i'll see what i can do for the BTmod.
but count me in!

Strict map control. We want to show the best of what we can make to the UT3 right? so i think before maps might be able to set out they have to be graded or something. or forfill to some standards.

Furthermore i would like some complementing mapping teams like planbase. Coz everyone has his quality.

Modwise
I was thinking would it be able to create that in a certain zone only a certain weapon can be used so different skills can be used aimwise

or you can allow multiple guns not really tight to the instagib. like for instance you allow the instagib and the sniper to shoot a small hole the sniper aims more easy but slows you down you know. but insta is hard to shoot the button. just make people have strategical decisions.

And btw i can only map so the coding and so on i dunno about just pulling up ideas ^^

Ive Also Started Mapping For UT3 and my First Map is a BT aswell 4 conversion of orrignal maps shud be good fun allowing for alot more control on just about everything in UTED apart from a few things

1. Please STOP CONVERTING MAPS omfg. wtf is fun bout that. you play a NEW GAME so play NEW MAPS. It's UT3. don't make it UT. I do agree however that one or 2 maps can be converted. But just leave it be. If i got to play all the maps that have been released in UT and which are converted to UT3 then i'm just not playing at all.

2. Please do keep all maps just " BT-mapname " and not " CTF-BT-mapname AND BT-mapname AND BT-(TAG)-mapname ........ " and so on.

How maps should be or not (quality control, etc.) is out of the focus of this thread. Maps will be how mappers want them to be. It'll be up to server admins to upload the maps they want. If the mod contains too restrictive mapping guidelines (or any guidelines that is), you are likely to stop innovations.

that maybe so but i'm just willing to protect the game from just the quality of maps as most of the 1 rated, not becoz they are one rated but becoz of the little variety in obstacles and the little time spended on the textures.
I just think that what annoys a lot bt-ers i know anyways. we could avoid that in the new game by putting in higher standards. for instance no more Biohazardtroy'sroom or cn's prettyuseless. That is just spoiling the servers in my opinion were in my opinion could be much more done with. for instance maverick is easy to i don't mind that becoz it has a quick change in skills. Liftjump --) few normal jumps, front dodge then the sidedodge in the lava, rampdodge etc.

Yeah, as you said it's your own opinion. Others will find the maps you mentioned fun to play.
If you're willing to "protect" the game in the way you find it's best, run your own server with your own policies regarding maps, etc. In the end, players will chose where they want to play.

Again, this is not in the focus of this thread.

Owkay.. that is infact to the serverhost, that's true. uhm
how about making a mix of high skilled and lower skilled maps to not scare away the new players from ut3 to something impossible for them to cap

That was the case for UT BT maps, so there's no reason not to be the case for UT3 BT.

LoL i just know the people who are gonna map for UT3 i know are just used to make high skill maps so i am just putting it up as an requirment.. don't talk me down on everything please ^^

Not putting you down, just reminding what this topic is about. Wink How maps should be is an endless debate since everyone has his own opinion about that. Let's keep it about features, as kaplan originally asked.

My apologies, I have made small mistake with posting this thread on both forums. I didn't realise many persons visit both places so doubleposting or bad tracking might occur. Also, I forgot at the end I have to dig trough each post and make a summary out of it. Doing it among two forums is overkill >.<
