Personal opinion about i4games + List of bad maps

imo Chain i think you are starting to cross a line now. What do you know about 'appointing new admins' this is like the first time i've seen you again in 2 months Smile

so i doubt you have a really good few on the way we handle things around here.

It's a good thing you put job in between little '' because it's not a job it's a thing we make time for, to make it as fun and enjoyable for everyone. Pardon me for us having a private life aswel.

Hosting a community is about putting more important priorities first. Your priorities might differ from our priorities, so imo i think you should be patient Smile

and be happy what you are getting from this community at this point. If you can find what you are looking for elsewhere, why not go there Smile

I'm not insulting the admins in any way, they have done a good job so far. I'm only saying maybe we could have some new admins or admin to take over the "less" important tasks like the maplist.

When that happens the head admins won't have to worry about those tasks anymore...

who uses them? not me

we play on ictf,it always fucks up,u play a map,it finishes,then something happens witch makes the map reapear, for us to play again,having to wait, god only knows,how long it takes to allow
to map vote

then this happens loads of times,u r playing great,everything is fine,tight scores,then the server fucks up again,so u have to reconnect to play,losing all that fun,i remeber that i was just about to cap,low and behold it happend,so everyone has to reconnect=no cap

Ok, I'll post my views Razz

I'm not really a massive regular on the CTF side of i4g, although I do try to play a couple of games a week. I have noticed the servers lagging recently though, and it's so frustrating (especially on BT) when it lags out.

I really do think that 3/4 of the servers are not anywhere NEAR worth the money and effort that is being put into them... By this time in UT's life, most players have a group of servers that they enjoy playing in. Realistically, by changing an i4g server to Sniper, it isn't going to bring in many new players. For that to happen, you'd need 1 or 2 popular Sniper servers to die, so that the players are forced to find new 'homes'.

I think that by shutting down the ZP server, the Sniper server and possibly the UT3 server, that money could, as Chainsaw already said, be much better used elsewhere. Even if it was a bit less money out of Yannicks pocket, it isn't anywhere near worth keeping these servers atm.

For a CTF or TDM server to be well used, there have to be plenty of players on the server. Whereas BT is mostly an individual gametype, CTF and TDM are not, and the best games will be played with 10+ players. If there are not a good few players on the server already, people just won't join.

So there's my two cents... In my opinion, that money could be better used increasing the size of the currently used servers (all the BT ones, the CTF server, and the War server), and/or setting them up on a better host. I may seem biassed here, but BT is simply played a lot more here. While I think CTF is a great gametype, it requires more players and therefore people will not spread themselves out over multiple servers as they will with BT; they'll want to play on a well populated one.

And I honestly think this server can become way more popular at the iCTF server than it is now.
And about what nierd_2 said: If you say that it's the same old discussion every week, doesn't that mean some things accually are wrong with this server and can be changed for the best.

Think you're talking a bit of bullshit there Dancebitch.

I actually know that All Trustee's and Admin's do their best - But at the same time I do know that there are a few problems, But no one is perfect and at the same time they still do their best for the community and they also have a life (Ish Razz

).
So I half see what you mean Chain, but the way you wrote it was a bit offensive so you might want to be a bit careful (Trust me, its very very easy to offend someone around here.)

Dance: You always say i4g is crap, yet you are still here? So that mean's it can't be as crap as you are overreacting it to be.

YOU might not use a server, but OTHERS do.
They are not a waste of space, A change is needed to keep i4g a bit more interesting. Yes they are not as used as iCTF and BT but some people do still enjoy them and I know I would if I had a monitor.

People also need to remember, If you get warned or banned for something and you think that you should not be, If you appeal against that in a nice way without losing your rag then the whole system can be much better.
If you turn around and swear and shout about then nothing will happen except maybe make the situation worse.

And dancebitch, we are not pretending to be admins infact we are just guys that are helping to have a fun game without lamers etc, too bad you think something else.

If it only was for me that I wanted the server to change I would be long gone and definately would not put any time in posting these things.

I also think there are many people who have the same opinion like me which is the reason they don't come play here. But opposite of that is also true. Many people play here because they don't like it anywhere else. But I believe if you change it a bit the regulars will still like it plus all the newcomers.

At the moment I'm still waiting for Medic to reply something now, I think we got many points of view already after one day. Thank you for that.

Chain: I can easily say alot of things that I personally don't like around here. The people and the service, But I won't.

This isn't a "Thanks to you" at all. You had a choice whetehr to go or not and you are still here.
I have actually in the past tried a few things out.

Yeh, Its frustrating - But give up mate. Some people are too busy ruining fun for others for anything to really change.

What I will say though, is sometimes its the innocents that get caught out and there isn't really anything that can be done about it. Yeh, that might be a personal thing from me, but I also know it isn't just me.
