all in all, i like it here as it is
that people have to register to join the forums is one of I4g better cards ( 'troef' of hoe zegde't..)
even the members here, those who know the i4g rules, already have so much trouble with eachother about what is lame and what is not. Won't this be even a bigger problem when you have random people coming in who know nothing about the I4G way of life?
and if you really want more people here (wich I don't think is really needed but anyway..), why don't you work with an invite system instead. Let players from i4G invite other players they know. That way you'll have a whole better network of people, you can invite the players that you think would make i4g a better place. Instead of having countless people hop in of wich only a small hand full turn out to become solid I4G members.
you could award members with points for inviting someone, etc... just have to figure out something good and all so the invite thing seems like a special privilege or something.

I prefer Jaakie's idea...
But generally people seem to be forgetting that the original UT is almost 10 years old. Times change and classic games like these become less popular unforunately.
I4games is free so why do we need to advertise the whole "try before you buy"? This community hosts 8 servers catering for all players and is especially notorious for its bunnytrack servers.
I4 is already investing in marketing with merchandise and I think that's the best way of gaining interest.
Generally I think this community and it's servers has it all; why fix something that isn't broken?

I like it jaakie - But I think more like a Trial period of invites only. Lasting a few months of just invited members to join.

Maybe its time to introduce some different games to i4g tbh rather than ut itself games have moved on quite a lot since ut99 think about it with all the patches etc to try to make ut99 work on a new(ish) pc most people cant be asked or don't know how to do it all they want to do is play a new game with all the eye candy .there are plenty of new online multiplayer games out there that are doing well pesonally i think i4g should branch out rather than stick to one game what would i4g rather maybe getting 20 donations week if that or a lot more donations introducing new games i think i4g should be promoting itself a lot more than it does now as for the trial period for i4g wasting your time very few people are installing ut99 these days on there new(ish) pc they playing NEW games

But that's why people donate, the people still playing UT99 are mainly veterans, and willing to donate to help/play more in this community..i wouldn't donate in another mod/game personally ;p

in my opinion,ut99 is the best net game!
no other will even come close to the fun, yeah the look pretty as graphics has come a long way,but....all of them, don't make u laugh...sometimes and other frustrates
u see why people go for new games is the way they look plus, they wouldnt buy aan old game, witch they no nothing about
new games look pretty but have no game play,ut3 well that was a let down, looks awesone but the figures play like sand bags.
u cant do special moves,spinnning,bouceing
i played woot on ut3,it was crap,it played to slow, so even the n00bs could win easly
and its not my pc!:o)

But if I figure out a way to efficiently prevent that, why not. |
Cant you put in a recognatition system so they can only do this the once. I know isp's can change but the computer doesn't.

i do have to agree with the above statement.
trial period for a game that's 10 years old... It's not smt elite you have here tbh.
I vote for more games
COD4 does awfully well...

Just want to say; Trustees/Admins are human, they also have their personal life to take care of, and at the moment there are enough active trustee's, if you think different, thats your problem because I think you're the only one complaining about it.
Besides, I think the servers are running great, good players, good rules, fun games. And also a nice site And yes, its damn hard to keep a community running and I think you arent helping much with making such comments, Medic is doing his very best to make this community fun for everyone.

remember me the beginning of i4games , increase of people during the years and more handle than before , unluck that the mrc server went down but i4g still online and the staff (admins trustees ... members) do an awesome job

Use the relics in a whole other idea..
If some1 made a killing spree the whole team gets speed relic or some other relic.. etc make it as rewards or for ultra killing u recieve a skullrellic etc etc.
Like CoD4 - UTstyle
